艾蜜莉‧狄更生(Emily Dickinson, 1830-1886)為美國詩人，以清澈、簡潔卻又深刻的風格，成為十九世紀以降，美國最重要的女性文學家之一。 由哥倫比亞女導演派翠西亞‧艾瑞莎創作劇本並且執導的《艾蜜莉˙狄更生》，三位女演員如同四股毛線在劇中朗誦交織著詩，以聲音、音樂、沉默和身體，探索女詩人的欲望和動機，一窺她奇異而神祕的一生。

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) was an American poet born in Amherst, Massachusetts. In late 20th century she was regarded one of the most important female authors of the US. The script is created by director Patricia Ariza with three actresses reading out Emily's poems, discussing her life with theatre and dance. The actresses explore between the lines and try to have a glimpse of her desire and motivation as a female poet.
